EWI & Render Maintenance, Summer Works and Beyond!
It’s been another busy month at Strata and we’re really pleased that we’ve had some extra sunshine compared to a very rainy May!
We’ve been continuing our External Wall Insulation & Rendering works throughout the month for our private customers and clients as well as carrying on with works under the now closed Green Homes Grant scheme for customers that were able to redeem their vouchers before the deadline. Our team have been hard at work continuing to expand our services to make sure we can support all our customers every step of their journey and continue that great service even after work that has been completed!
EWI & Render Maintenance and Repairs
During June we officially launched our EWI & Render maintenance services page which is great news! While our work previously has included maintenance and repair work, we’ve now expanded our services and are spreading the word to help restore and maintain render across the UK!
While these measures are generally low maintenance its still important to know what to do to prevent any problems occurring later down the line. Our team have shared some of their tips to keep your existing render or external wall insulation in top condition over the years.
- Always follow the manufacturers guidelines on how to take care of your specific render or EWI system. All reputable manufacturers will have great instructions and advice on things to do to keep your render looking great so make sure to get them from your installer and give them a good read!
- Make sure to check the pipework and guttering on the outside of your property for any leaks or problems. If any are found then fix them ASAP. While the render and EWI systems are weatherproof, constant leaking of water onto an area over a period of time can cause issues and damage.
- If you have any work done to your property such as a new satellite dish or external lights fitted, make sure they are installed properly following the manufacturers advice for your system and that any penetrations are sealed properly to prevent water ingress.

Throughout June we’ve been working hard and we’ve been thankful to get some extra sunshine to help keep work on track without any delays. Silicone Render
Finally we’d like to highlight one of our main services again which is Silicone Render. This is a fantastic way to upgrade the look of your property and really give it a new lease of life in a very affordable manner. While we would often recommend external wall insulation with a render finish on properties that are in need of the insulation, render is a great option for properties that are already insulated or for solid wall properties that are planned to be insulated internally instead.
We work with a wide range of suppliers meaning there really is something for everyone in terms of the appearance and colouring. If you’ve got a specific look, colour or style in mind then let our team know and we can help work out how to make it happen! Below we’ve included some pictures of a property we rendered in June using a Licata Building Systems scrim and pin render product in Cambridgeshire. We’re really pleased with the result and most importantly the customer is too!
