It’s always important to us that our customers get high quality completed work and for a good deal. That’s why we work hard to make sure our customers can access funding, grants and information to make sure they get the best possible price. Whether it’s from ECO Funding or simply a local council grant. We stay in tune with current events in Cambridge, East Anglia, Peterborough, London, the Midlands and beyond to help you stay informed and get a great deal on whatever work you need.

Thanks to our partnerships we’re also able to offer competitive finance options to our customers, helping you spread the costs of your work into affordable payments. These finance options are available to all of our customers that meet the relevant criteria of our finance partner.

Great for you

With some grants bringing savings of up to 100% of the cost of the work, this is great news for you!

Our team is happy to advise on what different forms of grants and funding there are and help you find out if you qualify. And of course, funding or not we always complete the work to our extremely high standards. To help you out we’ve included some of the common types of grants that are currently available below.

What is ECO?

The Energy Company Obligation (ECO) is a government energy efficiency scheme in Great Britain to help reduce carbon emissions and tackle fuel poverty. This is done via installers carrying out compliant installations of energy efficiency measures. The measures available for ECO funding are:

  • Loft Insulation
  • Solid Wall Insulation
  • Cavity Wall Insulation
  • Boiler Replacement
  • Boiler Repair

How do I qualify?

In order to qualify for ECO funding you or someone living in the household where the improvements will be installed must be on one of the following benefits:

  1. Income based Jobseekers Allowance (JSA),
  2. Income related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA),
  3. Income Support (IS),
  4. Pension Credit Guarantee Credit (PCGC),
  5. Working Tax Credit (WTC),
  6. Child Tax Credit (CTC),
  7. Universal Credit (UC),
  8. Housing Benefit,
  9. Pension Credit Savings Credit (PCSC),
  10. Child Benefit*

*Child benefit has some specific income requirements that also apply in order to qualify for funding, this is found in the table below.

Number of Children 1 2 3 4+
Single Claimant £19,900 £24,800 £29,600 £34,500
Couple £27,500 £32,300 £37,200 £42,000

In addition, those that receive the Warm Home Discount scheme can also qualify for ECO4 funding.

How much funding can I get?

Unfortunately this is not an easy question to answer. The amount of funding depends on the type of property you live in, its detachment and how many bedrooms there are. For smaller measures such as loft insulation the funding may cover the full value while for more expensive measures such as solid wall insulation the funding will only cover a portion of the overall cost.

If you are on one of these benefits and are interested in external wall insulation or would like to know more then head over to our contact page and we’ll be happy to help.

Local councils and housing authorities can sometimes release their own specific forms of grants benefitting those in the local area. We regularly identify and keep up with grants in our areas of operation to ensure we can bring our customers the best deals.

Our main areas of work are as follows: Cambridge Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, East Anglia, Norfolk, Suffolk,  Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, London, Essex, Oxfordshire

We have experience in dealing with LAD and Decarbonisation funds within local areas and look forward to further increasing our portfolio to help customers gain funding for the energy efficiency measures their homes need.

What is the scheme?

The Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS) supports the decarbonisation of heat in buildings. It provides upfront capital grants to support the installation of heat pumps and biomass boilers in homes and non-domestic buildings in England and Wales.

Who can benefit?

The scheme is open to domestic and small non-domestic properties in England and Wales. New build properties are not eligible for the scheme, with the exception of certain ‘self-builds’.

In order to be eligible, a self-build must:

  • have been built mainly using the labour or resources of the first owner
  • never have been owned by a business or organisation

Grants are not available for:

  • social housing – that is, any rental or owned accommodation that’s provided at lower than market value to people that could not have afforded it otherwise (including arrangements like shared ownership)
  • properties that have already received government funding or support for a heat pump or biomass boiler

How much can I claim?

£5000 off the cost and installation of an air source heat pump
£5000 off the cost and installation of a biomass boiler
£6000 off the cost and installation of a ground source heat pump, including water source heat pumps

When does the scheme begin?

The scheme officially opens for applications on the 23rd May 2022.

While this scheme does not deal with the insulation products we normally work with we have qualified partners that install heat pumps and biomass boilers that are compliant with the rules to allow our customers to claim the £5000 grant. If you are interested in this scheme and would like more information please contact us at info@strata-insulatedrenders.com or fill in our contact form and we’ll do our best to help.
